According to a survey conducted by Ctrip.com, China’s leading online booking agency, Hong Kong was the top destination, with Phuket second.
Considering that Hong Kong is actually part of China, that puts Phuket in top position as a destination for Chinese holidaymakers. Bangkok came seventh.
According to the Thai Ministry of Tourism and Sports, almost 1.2 million Chinese visited Thailand in the first eight months of this year, up 69 per cent from the same period in 2010.
