A day of Stand Up Paddle for the whole family with elite and fun races put on by Stand Up Projects, an adventure company supporting sustainable community projects, will be held on Sunday March 31st 2013, 12pm - 6pm.
Last year Stand Up Projects circumnavigated around Phuket raising money to build a Good Shepherd school for underprivileged Burmese kids.

Stand Up Paddle (SUP) is the worlds fasting growing water sport at the moment and offers a diverse range of activities, one being in the form of fun spirited competition.
The idea of this day is to bring the Phuket community together promoting community spirit, healthy lifestyle and fun, fun, fun!
If you have never SUP before, not a problem as they have many races just for fun as well as kids games, food and drink, entertainment all at Bliss Beach Club, Bangtao.
They have different races for men, women, and kids:
Elite Race starting at Bliss going out around Amanpuri Headland & back
Short Sprint Races - One lap around the race buoys
Family Race - 2 people on one paddle board
Island Relay Race - This is ocean dominance at its best with hotels & business competing for the Islands bragging rights. 4 members doing 1 leg each.
They will also have a SUP clinic running for those who can try paddling for the first time as well as SUP Yoga demonstrations by Skyla's Surf & Sup Club.
