Phuket schools celebrate International Day

PHUKET: Both the British International School Phuket (BISP) and HeadStart International School have celebrated their annual International Days in the past few weeks.

Thursday 11 April 2013, 09:09AM

The celebrations at BISP began on Friday March 22, and kicked off with a parade of the 42 different nations represented by the student body at BIS Phuket, with around 800 students wearing either their national costume or national colours.

Stage performances were next, followed by food tasting at 12 different international food stalls run by the BISP parents.

Meanwhile, children and parents from HeadStart celebrated their International Day at their sport and leisure club, FunStart, on March 29, where there were plenty of games, songs, food and fun activities for the children and their parents to get involved with.

Miki Edouard, manager, school administration and registration for Headstart explained the importance of such events, “This special event is a time for us all to come together to share a little of our own cultural backgrounds with other members of the community, as well as a chance for us all to learn lots of exciting and interesting things about the world.”
