A press conference was held at the Patong Bay Hill Hotel last Friday (May 1) overseen by Phuket United Futsal Club President Preachawut Kisin, who was joined by fellow board directors, staff, coaches and selected players.
Mr Preachawut confirmed 19 players have registered with the club for the 2026 season and the team’s jersey will be adorned by the sky blue colours of the “Andaman Pearl”.
Under the conecpt of “One Island, One Team”, the goal is to finish in the top six places of the league in order to qualify for the knockout play-off round, Mr Preachawut said. The league has 14 teams competing in total, including Bluewave Chonburi, Port ASM, Hongyen Thakam, Bangkok FC and Kasem Bundit.
Mr Preachawut explained the club is very much community focused and Phuket residents and sports fans can get involved directly by buying tickets to support the team at games and also by purchasing replica team shirts.
He added that vocal support from fans at all home games is very much welcome and will no doubt contribute to the team’s improved performance on the field.
The return of Phuket United to the national futsal league is another important step for the development of the game across the island by inspiring youngsters to take up the game, explained Mr Preachawut.
The team began their campaign with a strong performance on Sunday (May 3) at the Saphan Hin Sports Center, defeating Bangkok FC 3-2 in their opening game.
The game was broadcast live on TrueVisions True Premier Football Channel 5, as will all games throughout the season.
