It was previously managed by Swedish entrepreneur Lars Ydmark’s Tri-Asia, which also runs the successful Dewa Resort at Nai Yang Beach.
The resort is currently going through a re-branding and re-positioning period from which is will emerge as the Karon Sovereign All Suites Resort.
The resort has a mixture of one- and two-bedroom suites and penthouses between 63 to 140 square metres in area.
About 20 per cent of the suites will be offered for vacation club ownership, a press release stated.
Stefan Hermansson, Authorised Director of Sovereign Co Ltd, owner of Karon Sovereign Resort, said, “We are very happy to have found an enthusiastic, straight-forward-thinking partner in Mai-BS (Thailand) to manage and develop our resort even further for the benefit of all guests and stakeholders.
“It’s the perfect time to re-position our property,” he added.
