That will be followed by the start of two longer, weekly programmes, This Week in Phuket and Phuket in Focus. All three programmes will eventually make up an hour-long programme, which will be aired on KPP Cable TV Channel One at 7pm and 11pm everyday.
Phuket News TV is a natural progression for Class Act Media. Following the success of The Phuket News, Live 89.5 and the Russian-language newspaper Novosti Phuketa, TV is the important final ingredient in the media mix.
Class Act Media Managing Director Simon Samaan has been working with the TV team over the past two months preparing for the launch of Phuket News TV.
“Phuket News TV is a great step forward for Class Act Media. It gives us presence throughout all three major three media channels; print (in both English and Russian), radio and now TV. We will be continuing with our normal policy of offering cost-effective promotional options to our clients. Having TV allows us to further leverage on our other media channels and do exactly that.”
The three programmes build on the excellent resources of the rest of the company.
News Today is the only daily local TV news in English and will be prepared every weekday morning; This Week in Phuket will feature all the island’s events, arts and music; and Phuket in Focus is a weekly current affairs programme that will look back at the week’s news with further commentary and interviews with the island’s newsmakers.
Station Manager Tim Newton is sure that everyone will enjoy the new programming.
“We’ve worked hard to provide the most flexible viewing options for everyone. The easiest thing to do is to log onto the Phuket News website (www.thephuketnews.com) and click ‘TV’. That will take you to the TV website where you can select to watch any of the current programmes anytime you want. Or we’ll be on KPP Cable TV every day at 7pm and 11pm.
“The key here is making sure the programmes work across all the platforms – smartphones, laptops, tablets – and fit into people’s busy lives. You watch what you want, when you want.
“We’ve also planned programmes around the people who live on the island, not just the tourists. There are plenty of ‘magazine’ style TV programmes already – we’re building on the great strengths of The Phuket News and Live 89.5, already leaders in coverage of news and current affairs in Phuket.”
Phuket News TV is also a total media production facility and can provide more than just programmes.
“Our recent investment in top-of-the-range audio and video equipment means that we will also be offering high-quality corporate video production services to our clients at extremely reasonable rates,” said Mr Samaan.
