Governor Chokchai Dejamornthan presided over the condolence ceremony which was organised by the Ministry of Interior and Government Public Relations Department and held in 12 provinces which have regional stations of the National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) television station.
Those provinces are; Khon Kaen, Ubon Ratchathani, Chiang Mai, Phisanuklok,Surat Thani, Songkla, Chanthaburi, Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Sri Thammarat, Trang, Yala and Phuket.
Speaking before the start of the ceremony, Gov Chokchai said, “At 10am we will have a ceremony for our beloved King Bhumibol. This ceremony, along with ceremonies being held in 11 other provinces today, will be recorded and broadcast on the NBT television station.
“Each of the country’s 77 provinces will hold its own ceremony,” he said.
“Following the ceremony, people are also invited to sign a remembrance book which is located on the second floor of the building and placed in front of a portrait of HM the King. Residents can come to provincial hall and pay their respects for the next 30 days,” he added.
Meanwhile, 250 Phuket Christians belonging to the Phuket Christian Committee and Billy Graham Evangelistic Association were led by Reverend Yotsanan Kornkumpanat at a memorial service held yesterday at 7:21pm at the Zion of God Chruch to mourn to passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol.
