Phuket for kids: Explore your imagination, not the internet

PHUKET: It is may be the wet season but this also means that surf’s up off Phuket. What a great time to get out in the waves and learn to surf. One of the better known surf schools on the island is Skyla’s Beach House, located at the Bliss Beach Club on Bangtao Beach.

Their surf and SUP club is running after-school surf classes for those eager young ‘grommits’. Boys and girls really enjoy the fun. So get on down before the waves disappear.

If your child really enjoys this sport, Skyla’s has a range of new and pre-loved boards for sale. Check out Phuket for Kids for more information on surf schools.

Parlez-vous français?

One of Phuket for Kids’ newest listings is from Alliance Française Phuket. They run ‘The Club des Mousquetaires’ workshops to encourage young French speakers to practice French in a creative and fun way.

In addition to learning the French language, activties include board games, puppet shows, stories, drama and karate lessons. The Club also has a French Library. And it is all free, courtesy of Alliance Française Phuket! For more information, visit facebook.com/ClubDesMousquetaires.AFPhuket

Question of the week?

Q: I have friends visiting Phuket. Their children are aged 8 and 12 years. What should I advise them to do?

A: Phuket has many fun activities for children. Check out water theme parks such as Splash Jungle, Phuket Wake Park or Anthem Phuket. There are also shows such as Fantasea, Siam Niramit and Phuket Palazzo. Or if raining try one of the many henna tattoo, nail, massage or hair braiding venues.

Ziplining in the jungle with Extreme Adventures, Cable Jungle Adventure or Flying Hanuman will be an experience never forgotten.

Check out phuketforkids.com for venue details or purchase the book from smashwords.com/books/view/314465
