Thousands of tourists lined the streets to watch the riotously colourful carnival procession as it paraded along Soi Ton and Phang Muang Sai Kor Rd to Prachanukhro Rd, before turning right onto the beach road, ending at the Leam Phet Football Field.
Phuket Governor Maitree Intusut opened the Carnival, which continues until Thursday (December 20), with the help of Kathu District Chief Officer Apitsit Sangasri, Mayor of Patong Pian Keesin, and representatives of the main event sponsor, Thai Beverage Company.
Mr Pian said, “This carnival was created to support the good image of Phuket tourism among Thai and foreign tourists.”
