Pol Lt Theerachai Hassoh from Tha Chatchai police arrested 27-year-old Danai Buthjaw with a pair of stolen pink trainers that belonged to a passenger who had arrived at the airport on flight FD3007 from Don Muang.
The stolen trainers were found hidden in the back of a pick-up truck that belonged to Triple i Asia Cargo Co Ltd who operate at the airport.
Lt Theerachai said that he was notified by the station master of Triple i Asia Cargo Co.Ltd, Prapaporn Yodyoy, who said that she had found a suspect item in a plastic bag hidden in the back of the pick-up truck while she was inspecting the loading bay area.
Ms Prapaporn told police that she uncovered the plastic and found a pair of pink ladies trainers. She suspected the trainers had been removed from luggage that came on flight FD3007.
She then questioned staff and learned that the person who unloaded the bags from flight FD3007 was Danai and she then contacted police.
Lt Theerachai added that when questioning Danai about the trainers he admitted that he stole them from flight FD3007. He put them in a plastic bag and hid them in the back of the pick-up.
Danai said he planned to return for the trainers after his shift at work.
Lt Theerachai said it is possible Danai stole the shoe and intended to sell them to get a bit of extra cash, and that this might not have been his first theft.
Danai was taken to Tha Chatchai Police Station and charged with theft.
