Up first under lights were TSLC, looking to keep their season’s perfect record intact against SGS. Both teams started slowly, and it was TSLC who opened the scoring midway through the first half through their top scorer, Aek.
SGS were spurred into action, attacking hard at the front and creating several chances, but the TSLC goalkeeper was on his game and proved up to the challenge. Then, as the half was drawing to a close, TSLC hit three goals in a frenetic four -minute spell to stun SGS.
In the second half, with a commanding four-goal lead, TSLC were happy to sit back most of the time and absorb the pressure, and while SGS managed to bag a consolation goal, TSLC whacked in two more to finish the game with an emphatic 6-1 victory.
In the Premier Division, Thalang Tigers faced off against reigning champions Portrait FC.
With both teams’ squads depleted for the encounter, it was a case of conserving energy and making the ball do the work.
Portrait started on the front foot and pressed Thalang at every opportunity, racing out to a three-goal lead early on.
Thalang worked hard to get back in the game but struggled to keep up with Portrait and tired as the game wore on.
Portrait kept control of the match, eventually running out 7-2 winners with new Norwegian signing Stig grabbing two and Season 9 top scorer Somsak helping himself to a hat-trick to take his season tally to 10.
