Police said a six-wheel truck was travelling along Chao Fah East last night when it tried to overtake a motorbike. It clipped the motorbike, which was carrying 21 year old Surasak Chaichana and Rungnapa Pikulthong, and their four month old baby.
Both parents were run over by the truck and killed instantly, while the baby son miraculously only suffered minor injuries. The baby boy is in Vachira Hospital.
Col. Boonlert On-Klang of Chalong police station said, “The truck was following the motorbike and tried to cut in front of the motorbike. The bike was hit and fell down, and the truck ran over the people.”
The crash happened on Chao Fah East, about 100 metres from the entrance to Soi Tamiet.
The truck driver is 25-year-old Udom Sea-at, who fled the scene but was eventually caught and arrested.
