A recent incident in Spain saw one owl receive treatment shortly after it injured it’s back when it flew into a stovepipe at a factory in Madrid.
The animal was taken to an owl-rescue sanctuary where the ancient Chinese technique was used to nurse the owl back to health.
“[Acupuncture] stimulates self-curing mechanisms in the organism. It does not cause side-effects,” said the owl’s acupuncurist, Edurne Cornejo. “When he first came, he couldn’t stand up. Then he started taking little steps. Now he is flying again.”
