Troops based along the disputed Cambodia-Thai border have exchanged artillery fire today, leaving at least one Thai soldier dead.
The two sides blamed each other for starting the exchange, which Thai officials said had killed one of its troops and wounded five.
The Cambodian military has not released information on casualties.
The clashes erupted near Ta Krabey temple, which is claimed by both sides. More than 5,000 local people are to be evacuated, officials say.
It is the worst incident since at least 10 people were killed in clashes at another disputed temple in February.
