Raiders, led by Thalang chief administrative officer Siripong Liprasit and including deputy Investigations Division superintendent Pol Lt Col Pisit Cheunpetch, surrounded a house in Mu 8, Pa Khlok, after informants said it was a centre for narcotics sales.
They found 42-year-old Prasert Sawangsap as he was sweeping trash in front of a cattle pen behind the house.
In the left rear pocket of his shorts they found a white plastic box containing 307 ya ba pills. Also in the box were two bags of a cloudy white substance that looked similar to fish scales. The 2.18 grammes of this substance was identified as a new form of crystal methamphetamine, or ya ice.
Prasert was arrested and taken to Thalang police station for interrogation. Police said they expected to “expand results” of the raid in the near future, meaning that further arrests can be expected.
