More one-litre bottles of palm cooking oil will be on sale to the public, priced at 47 baht a bottle, within three days, Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban said on February 24. The bottles will have pink caps.
"Legal action will be taken immediately against anyone selling a bottle for more than 47 baht. There will be no compromise," Mr Suthep said.
The deputy prime minister, who is chairman of the National Oil Palm Policy Committee, said there will be an auction for the private suppliers to purchase 30,000 tonnes of oil that day.
The Public Warehouse Orgnisation will run the auction and the Department of Special Investigation will observe the bidding, he said.
