"The Sports Authority of Thailand has joined hands with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports to bring English Premier League club Manchester United to Thailand.

"The tour is part of Manchester United's Asian tour and the team will visit four countries in Asia. It will be United's first Thailand visit in more than 10 years," he added.

"United will bring all their first-team players so Thai fans will get to see the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Shinji Kagawa and David de Gia in action."

United will likely play the Thailand League All-Star team at Rajamangala Stadium," said Kanokphan. The match will be held in July and the date will be confirmed later.

New Paths Retreat

Meanwhile, Fifa inspector is pleased with the venues for the Fifa Futsal World Cup to be held between Nov 1-18 in Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima.

"I am very pleased with Nimibutr Gymnasium," said Jaime Yarza, the director of the Fifa Futsal, after the inspection. "The gymnasium is in great condition. However, I am worried about the Bangkok Futsal Arena because it is still under construction.

"We will come back on Oct 20 to make the last inspection for the four venues during the Fifa meeting in Bangkok," added Yarza.
