Capt Thanom Thongpan from the Tha Chatchai Police received a call from a local resident at 9:48am reporting an accident on the Sai Kaew beach rd in Mai Khao, where it was stated a driver had lost control of his car and smashed into lamp post.

The driver was reported to have been trapped inside the vehicle.

Police arrived at the scene with Mai Khao rescue workers to find the rear-end of a wrecked Toyota Yaris wrapped around an uprooted lamp post. The driver, 26-year-old Patjukom Rattakarn from Phang Nga, was trapped inside.

Immediately after being removed from the vehicle by rescue workers Mr Patjukarn passed out in the road. However, he had only sustained bruises to his body as a result of the accident.

Mr Patjukarn was taken to Thalang Hospital after receiving first aid treatment.

Capt Thanom said, “Witnesses said that the Toyota came from the direction of the Thai Chatchai checkpoint at high speed despite the road being wet. When the driver came to the bend he lost control and slammed into the lamp post.

“We have to question the driver before we can conclude our investigation,” he said.

It was unfortunate that this person was able to walk away, only to once again drive like a reckless fool, next time possibly taking out an innocent person.

This is crazy

Statement: Such a thai driver drove to fast, not adjusting to present road/weather conditions.
Inconsiderate as well regarding other road users safety.
Criminal driving behavior.
They ever give it 1 second thought about other road users?

Simon01, do you have a dash cam in your car and look it back sometimes at home?
And show it to your friends abroad?
For sure a entertaining talk about it is granted.
It is a nice birthday present to make them speechless.

I do, without mentioning anything.

simon01 | 23 September 2016 - 15:51:47

Just a joke now. The thai can not drive. They are a danger to all and no one cares. The police and officials just can not be bothered to make Phukets roads safe. Just so sad to see as people with young children are going to die. Families destroyed both local and tourist alike. The tourism will stop and then more suffering for the locals. But does anyone care. Does not look like it.

Hahaha, High speed, wet road, lost control. Everything said and concluded.
Please, up next similar unneeded dumb accident.
One thing for sure, it will never be snow!

It looked like he wanted to have a kind of intercourse with that particular pole. hahahaha.

You can quite clearly see in the second photo that the pole must have been tail-gating. No sympathy.
