In second place was Suwat Paiboon, a sergeant in the Royal Thai Army Fourth Area, and the first Thai runner to complete the 42-km event.
Two other events, a 10-kilometre mini-marathon and a 4.5-kilometre fun run, took place alongside the main event, with all three races ending outside the Provincial Health Office on Narisorn Rd.
The event was very popular with people from a wide range of nationalities, backgrounds and levels of fitness.
Alison Davie from the UK, a member of the Ultraman team, who came second in the women’s 30-39 category of the mini-marathon, said, “I really enjoy running, and all the events in Phuket are well organised and good fun. There are great people at the competitions.”
