Eight-year-old Juliet Childs has become an internet sensation with her Phuket song.

An eight-year-old Australian girl has shown the national tourism body how it’s done, reaching out to an audience of almost 20 million with a message – “I love Phuket” – albeit in unconventional style and without even really intending to.

The girl, Brisbane-based Juliet Childs, has become an internet sensation with the release of My First Hardcore Song, which had received a massive 19.6 million hits on YouTube as of Wednesday (February 8).

In case you haven’t heard the song already, it is backed by a heavy metal soundtrack thanks to Brisbane producer Rob Sharpe. The general gist of the song is that Juliet loves her dog “and her fishes”.

According to the T-shirt she’s wearing in the film clip, she also loves Phuket.

Juliet’s mum Kristina told The Phuket News, “We travel to Phuket every year. We love Thailand, especially Phuket.
“Her ‘I heart Phuket’ shirt is one of her favourites that she always wears.

“We always stay at Poppa Palace [in Patong] and the staff there have basically adopted Juliet. When we go there the staff will always ask to hang out with Juliet and they braid her hair and teach her how to talk in Thai.”

But all the attention the viral video has gained was by no means intentional. Kristina was quoted in the Brisbane Times as saying: “It wasn’t a set-up or anything.

“We harmlessly shot a video to show our friends and family and then it went all crazy.”

An article in the New York Daily News has also asked several metal musicians what they thought of the clip.

Dave Davidson of metal band Recovation described it as “completely adorable and totally brutal”, while Prong’s Tommy Victor saw it as “Rebecca Black meets Harley Flanagan”.
