Police arrested Naser Amim Mohammad Mansour, 45, at about 7pm on Monday (December 19) at Patong’s Orient Palace restaurant.

“A restaurant owner in Patong told us that Mr Naser and six Thai bodyguards came to his home to demand B7 million from him. After initial investigations, we found there was enough evidence to issue a warrant for Mr Naser’s arrest,” Pol Lt Col Thummasan Boonsong said.

Patong police have so far brought no charges, but will continue to investigate. Mr Naser was released on bail on Tuesday (December 20).
