The aim is to bring Phuket’s people together to build a shared vision of a Sustainable Phuket, with clear, specific and measurable goals and outcomes, along with a draft set of integrated sustainability indicators aligned with the vision goals and outcomes and important issues.
It is hoped the workshop will result in the creation of a master list of prioritised sustainability issues (with their perceived trends) for Phuket, a draft shared vision of a future sustainable Phuket, tangible and measurable goals and outcomes, and a draft set of sustainability indicators.
One of the lead workshop trainers is Robert Steele, director of Systainability Asia Ltd. (and AtKisson Asia). An experienced consultant and trainer, Mr Steele works closely with national and local governments, NGOs, international agencies and private sector corporations and SMEs across the Asia-Pacific region on sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.
