Phuket’s Nene Bi Tra Sylvestre opened the scoring ten minutes in with a header from a corner kick. But Trat kept up pressure on Phuket in the first half, with three attempts on goal.

Two minutes into the second half Phuket went two goals ahead when a long ball from Islanders' goalie Ninuruddin “Spider Ming” Nideha was clipped down by a Trat player – but Giorgi stole the ball, and fired in his first goal.

But Trat fought back, with a goal at 57 minutes from a free kick awarded for a Phuket foul, and less than two minutes later from a header by a poorly-marked Trat player.

At 63 minutes, the Islanders' Yusuke Sato cleared an overhead shot at the Phuket goal, but the cleared ball fell into Trat’s line of fire, giving the hosts their third goal in less than 10 minutes and putting them one goal ahead.

In the last five minutes of the game, at 3-2 down, the Islanders were under tremendous pressure as they faced a loss they probably couldn't afford.

But there was still hope, and deliverance came once again from the Tall Georgian, who headed in his second goal of the evening at 87 minutes.

After five minutes of extra time, the 3-3 draw gave both teams one point in Thai Division One, and for now Phuket FC are still hanging on at fifth place in the league, with 19 points from 12 games.

Although they're now 9 points behind the leaders Air Force Avia, and with other teams still to play in this round on Sunday, Phuket are still within striking distance of the second or third place promotion berths to the Thai Premier League - but only if they start winning soon.

Phuket FC next play at home against Krabi FC, at Surakul Stadium on Wednesday, May 29. Kick-off is at 6:30 pm, tickets are B100, children and school students get in free.

Other Thai Division One/Yamaha League One results, from Thai League Football:

Air Force 2-1 Rayong Utd
BBCU 1-1 Nakhon Pathom Utd
Siam Navy 2-2 Bangkok FC
Sriracha 1-1 TTM
Trat 3-3 Phuket

Air Force increased their lead at the top to six points with a 2-1 victory over a Rayong United side that finished the game with 9 men.

Nakhon Pathom United also finished their match with two players less of their initial compliment, yet they managed to grab a point at a faltering BBCU.

Camera Souleymane gave NP and early lead with Marcio levelling in first half stoppage time.

The Big Bang’s misery was complete when top scorer Pichit’s second half penalty bounced back off the post.

Disappointingly, there were a couple of unsavory incidents to note in this contest. First, it was shameful to observe BBCU’s Khitiphop rolling in agony on the ground before suddenly jumping to his feet grinning once his opponent had been red carded.

And then, watching Nakhon Pathom’s Thanawan remove his shirt to tear into the referee after he had correctly dismissed him for headbutting Marcio. Thai football could certainly do without these couple of characters in their game.

Olof Watson returned to his former stamping ground in Sattahip and netted two off the easiest goals he’ll ever score. Siam Navy replied with a couple of spectacular goals as it finished 2-2 between themselves and Bangkok FC.

Holding on to 2-0 leads doesn’t seem to be Phuket’s strong point as they blew a two goal advantage for the second consecutive weekend. Trat hit the Islanders with a three goal ten minute second half blitz before Giorgi Tsimakuridze grabbed a late equalizer for Phuket.

The points were shared in front of 791 spectators as relegation rivals Sriracha and TTM drew 1-1.
