Three bands made it through to the final by winning their separate heats. Six bands that did not win their heats had to campaign online for votes to try and win one of the two wildcard slots.

Voting took place online in the form of YouTube ‘views’ and ‘likes’ and FaceBook ‘likes’.

The two bands that have emerged victorious in their online blitz are Eye Forgot and Lost Soul. They will join heat winners Notorious, Sicma and The Bayonets in Saturday’s clash to see who will walk away as the winner.

The event starts at 4pm on Saturday at Hard Rock Cafe in Patong. The show will be opened by last year’s winners Legends of Siam, currently riding the crest of a wave with their new line-up and new single Ever Fallen in Love.

The battle will follow, with each band playing two songs for the panel of judges. Closing the show is rising Malaysian star Nadhira Shamsuri, after which the winners will be announced.

The band crowned champions will walk away with a Recording Package from Legend Music, a music video to be produced by Phuket News TV, a media package from Live 89.5 and The Phuket News, and a cash prize of B50,000 from Hard Rock Café.
