French Chef Regis Marcon, from the three-Michelin-star restaurant Regis & Jacques Marcon, will host a variety of wine dinners, cooking classes and wine tasting events at Six Senses Yao Noi Beyond Phuket until January 12.
Regis & Jacques Marcon opened in 1948, when Chef Marcon’s parents established a small business in the village of St-Bonnet-le-Froid, less than 100 km south of the French gastronomic epicentre of Lyon.
The restaurant now employs 48 staff and gained its third Michelin star in 2005, placing it among the top 80 restaurants in the world.
In the prestigious Guide Gault & Millau, the Regis & Jacques Marcon is awarded five toques, placing it alongside only 11 other restaurants out of 3,560 restaurants reviewed.
It currently scores 18/20 points, among the highest points awarded in the world.
Chef Marcon is internationally-recognised as an expert in mushrooms, and many dishes in his restaurant feature mushrooms foraged locally. During his stay at Six Senses, Chef Marcon will use locally-grown mushrooms from the island.
