Substitute Javier Hernandez’s 75th minute heroics gave the Red Devils a rare 3-2 victory over nine-man Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, where they have not won in 10 years.
Chelsea blew the game in the 63rd minute when Branislav Ivanovic was sent off after a tackle on Ashley Young, with Fernando Torres following him just minutes later – all with the game tied 2-2.
After the match, Chelsea defender and Nigerian international John Obi Mikel stormed into the referee’s room along with teammates to complain about alleged racially offensive language that official Mark Clattenberg had uttered during the game.
The FA are conducting a full investigation into the matter.
