Dozens of Phuket police to move in national reshuffle

PHUKET: Eighteen senior police officers in Phuket, including three of the six provincial deputy commanders, are to be moved to posts outside Phuket in the annual reshuffle that follows the moving of very senior officers at the end of September last year.

The three deputy commanders who will move are Col Arayapan Pukbuakhao (transferred to Deputy Commander of Bangkok Metropolitan Police Division 2, covering 11 Police stations in the capital); Col Witoon Kongsudjai (to be Deputy Commander of Krabi Province); and Col Aroon Klaewwatee (Deputy Commander of Investigation, Region 8).

They are replaced by Col Theerapol Tipcharoen and Col Saman Chainarong, both transferred from Surat Thani, and Col Weerawat Jantarawijit, formerly Superintendent of Klok-Kloy Police Station in Phang Nga.

In addition, seven of the 10 station superintendents in Phuket are to move to posts outside Phuket. Only two will remain in place – Kamala Police chief Col ML Pattanajak Chakrabandhu and Tha Chat Chai Police chief Col Somchai Sunprasert.

Col Chawalit Pechsripia of Wichit Police remains in Phuket but will move to be chief of Thung-Tong Police Station;

Those moving away are:

  • Col Nattapakin Kwanchaipruek (Thalang) to Deputy Commander of Chumporn Provincial Police;

  • Col Sermpan Sirikong (Phuket Town) to Deputy Commander of Chumporn Provincial Police;

  • Col Pawaorn Pornphromma (Cherngtalay Police Station) to Superintendent of Din Daeng Police Station, Bangkok;

  • Col Sirisak Wasasiri (Karon) to Superintendent of Takua-tung Police, Phang-Nga;

  • Col Krittapas Dechintarasorn (Chalong) to Superintendent of Takuapa Police, Phang-Nga;

  • Col Thitirat Arsakij (Thung Tong) to Superintendent of Baan Na Derm Police Station, Surat Thani; and

  • Col Jirapat Pochanapan (Kathu/Patong) to Superintendent of Phang-Nga Town Police.

Other moves out of Phuket:

  • Lt Col Chakrawat Boontaweekulsawas, Deputy Superintendent (Suppression) from Wichit to Superintendent of Special Operation and Investigation Division, Region 8;

  • Lt Col Chukiet Imjaitham, Deputy Superintendent (Investigation) from Chalong to Superintendent of Thung-Tako Police Station, Chumporn;

  • Lt Col Wisut Krengjing, Deputy Superintendent (Traffic) from Phuket Town to Superintendent of Baan Ta Kun Police Station, Surat Thani;

  • Lt Col Yongyuth Krongmalai, Inquiry Officer, Senior Professional Level of Thalang to Inquiry Official, Advisory Level, Surat Thani City; and

  • Col Jirasak Siemsak, Superintendent of General Staff Division of Phuket Provincial Police, to Superintendent of Koh Yao Police Station.

Three other officers will be promoted and/or moved within Phuket. They are:

  • Col Serm Kwannimitr, Adviser (Level 10) to be Superintendent of Cherngtalay;

  • Lt Col Kitipong Klaykaew, Deputy Superintendent (Suppression) of Chalong to be Superintendent of Wichit;

  • Lt Col Boonlert On-Klang, Inquiry Officer, Senior Professional Level of Thalang, to Inquiry Official, Advisory Level of Thalang Police; and

Drafted in from outside Phuket to fill some of the posts vacated by the moves will be:

  • Col Tassanai Orarikdej, Superintendent of General Staff Division 9 in Surat Thani, to Superintendent of General Staff Division of Phuket Province;

  • Col Chaiwat Uikum, Superintendent of Ranong Town, to Superintendent of Kathu;

  • Col Sompong Boonrat, Superintendent of Takua-Tung, Phang-Nga, to Superintendent of Karon;

  • Col Chanuchan Cholsuwat, Superintendent of Koh Yao Police Station, to Superintendent of Thalang;

  • Col Noppadol Thiraprawat, Superintendent of Takuapa, Phang-Nga, to Superintendent of Chalong;

  • Col Kraitong Jantongbai, Superintendent of Tab-Put, Phang-Nga, to Superintendent of Phuket Town;

  • Col Somkid Boonrat, Superintendent of General Staff Division 5, Region 8 to Superintendent of Investigation Division, Phuket Province;

  • Col Songwoot Khunjan, Inquiry Official, Advisory Level, Surat Thani, to Inquiry Official, Advisory Level of Kathu;

  • Lt Col Jakra Saowakon, Inquiry Official, Senior Profession Level, Koh Samui, to Inquiry Official, Advisory Level of Investigation Division of Phuket Province.

There will also be three moves within Phuket’s Immigration police:

  • Col Pranpansak Prasansuk, Superintendent of Phuket Airport Immigration moves to be Chonburi Immigration Superintendent.

  • He is replaced by Col Suppachoke Yongstar, currently Deputy Superintendent of Chiang Rai Immigration.

  • Col Krisadakorn Klinkesorn, Deputy Superintendent of Phuket Immigration, will move to Superintendent of General Staff Division 8 in Immigration HQ in Bangkok.

Barring further adjustments the moves will all take place on Thursday (January 15) as part of a nationwide migration.
