Does it feel like Christmas is coming?

PHUKET: As an expat in Thailand it can sometimes be a bit tough to really get into the Christmas spirit, to feel the growing excitement as tinsel and bells start popping up in shops and around houses.

Here there’s no leisurely lead into it, with the odd snowflake appearing or the volume of Christmas carols slowly turning up or sightings of guys wearing red suits and white beards increasing as C-Day draws closer.

It tends to spring itself on you suddenly, one day you’re enjoying a day at the beach, then bam, you’re scratching about trying to find which restaurant is offering the best Christmas lunch around the island.

And the thing most people leave until it’s too late is sending out Christmas cards. Phuket’s range of unique, funky or even relevant Christmas cards is… well… limited at best. Time to go old school on the Xmas cards and make your own!

Oasis ed. Phuket has two Christmas card workshops coming up in early December – Linocut Cards (December 9) and Kids Craft Christmas Cards (December 14). To book or for more information, please contact Kez at 084-946-2171 or visit oasisedphuket.com
