Dead, injured bodies: Who to call?

Paul in Patong asks : Many o’ late night in Phuket, I’ve come across an accident scene. Sometimes, there are rescue workers already on the scene. Other times, not, and I’m never sure what to do. Thankfully, someone usually stops to call for help, but should there be nobody there in the future, who can I call to collect injured or dead bodies in Phuket?

Kusoldharm Rescue Foundation answers: For any accident or incident you come across, on the road, for example, a car crashed or flipped, a suicide, drowning, or even just a random body you find, as well as snakes, or cats needing rescue, please notify us immediately.

There are three coverage areas in Phuket that Kusoldharm Rescue Foundation looks after; in Phuket Town, Patong, and all of Thalang district. We have a small workers and volunteer team standing by in each sub-districts 24 hours, 7 days a week, which will provide help in time in any accident nearby.

Ruamjai Rescue Foundation answers: We take responsibility for the areas of Chalong, Rawai, Nai Harn, Kata and Karon areas. However, in Rawai, Kata and Karon, we just help with transferring bodies to the hospital.

Khai Mook Rescue Centre (Phuket Tourist Rescue Centre) operating by Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (PPAO or OrBorJor) also takes responsibility for Rawai and Chalong areas, and will provide help for normal accidents and helping tourists on land and water.

Central Phuket
