Community: Online registration open for Run To Give 2016

Following a successful event last year, three Phuket resorts are once again organising their “Run To Give” charity event, to be held on October 16 at Bang Wad Dam in Kathu. This will be the fifth year that Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort, The Westin Siray Bay Resort & Spa, and The Naka Island, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa will co-organise the charity run.

The event aims to raise funds for the Pun Fun Pun Yim Foundation and HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Children’s Foundation. Both foundations focus on under privileged children in rural areas.

Aside from the 3km fun run and the main 10km run, there will be a fancy costume contest, limited souvenir shirts for sale, a photo booth, food and beverage tents and lucky draw for the runners, supporters and audience to enjoy. A lucky draw ticket will cost B100 and will give ticket buyers a chance to win one of 155 special souvenir items on the day of the event.

The 10km run will start at 6am and the 3km fun run will start at 6:15am at the scenic area and follow the newly renovated ring road of Bang Wad Dam in Kathu. The 3km fun run will have an open category and the winner will receive a special hotel or restaurant voucher, a trophy and a Run To Give 2016 medal.

The 10km run will have six categories: Open, 20-29 years old, 30-39 years, 40-49 years old, 50-59 years old and 60 years old and up, for both male and female runners. The winners in each category will receive special hotel or restaurant vouchers, a trophy and a Run To Give 2016 medal. A total of 103 trophies and 1,200 Run To Give Medals will be available to winners and other competitors.

You can also register on October 13 to 15 at Central Festival Phuket between 11am to 8:30 pm and on October 15 at Bang Wad Dam Kathu from 9am to 8:00pm.

Last minute registration can also be done in the early hours of the event day, October 16, at Bang Wad Dam in Kathu from 5am to 5:45am. The registration fee is at B250 for the 3km run and B350 for the 10km run.

Online registrants can collect their “running kit” during October 13 to 15 at Central Festival Phuket from 11am to 8:30 pm and on October 15 at Bang Wad Dam Kathu from 9am to 8pm.
