Thai Hotel Association (THA) President Surapong Techaruvichit said that the latest survey among members of the association about bookings over the Chinese New Year holiday found that occupancy rates rose to as high as 90 per cent.

Mr Surapong said that high occupancy rates were reported in major cities and popular tourist towns such as Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Phuket and Cha-Am.

The THA predicts that the growth in room occupancy throughout 2013 will be no less than 10 per cent.
