Bringing in the new year in Phuket with some inspiration

Hello and welcome to January 2016! Happy new year lovely people. I was recently fortunate enough to meet some very inspiring and interesting people at a music, art and health festival just outside of Pattaya.

One story in particular is my inspiration for sharing with you this month. I met a person who had had a terrible accident in Morocco and it had altered them physically forever.

However, in the moment of impact and the following two heart-stopping moments of near death, the decision was made that if they were being given a second chance at life, they would live THE life, the ultimate life, the happiest life, and the most satisfying life they could possibly imagine and create.

It got me thinking, why do we wait until a tragedy to realise that our life is precious? No one can live your life for you. Your life is your own and you alone are the driver. Why wait to live a perfect life? What are you waiting for? Happiness is just one thought away.

That doesn’t always mean seriously changing all the aspects of your life. Sometimes it just means doing the little things that you always plan to do next week, or next month, and then get angry with yourself for not yet doing it. Take the leap, make the change, be the driver.

I look forward to sharing the path of yoga with you again this year, in the pursuit of a happy, healthy body, mind and life. Let me leave you with this:

“The secret to change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old but on building the new.” – Socrates

This is your life.
