BREAKING: ‘Bomb’ found on Phuket beach

BREAKING: ‘Bomb’ found on Phuket beach

UPDATE: The 'bomb' found at Cape Panwa has now been identified as an M67 grenade, made in the United States. There is still no clue as to why or how it got onto the beach.

The spherical grenade had been stuffed into a plastic food container. Luckily, it had been taped around with black electrical tape, holding the spoon in place and rendering it safe unless the tape was removed and the pin pulled.

Pol Lt Col Ampol Janthakul, Deputy Superintendent of Wichit Police Station told The Phuket News this morning that the device was found on the shore and was believed to have floated there from the sea.
