As well as making use of BIS’ facilities, the international school was also used as a base for the resident and visiting students to explore Phuket and the neighbouring provinces of Krabi and Surathani.
The Phuket News very own fitness trainer Patrick Du Preez, who was responsible for the running of the summer camp said, “It was the aim to promote the growth and development of individuals and teams through dynamic and challenging experiences facilitated in a unique and supportive environment.”
Activities included snorkelling, canoeing, ocean kayaking, surfing, tubing, cave exploring, jungle hikes, elephant trekking, go-karting, fishing, paintball, and horse riding.
Patrick said, “In addition the students also had the opportunity to perform in plays and paint umbrellas and fans.”
The Sports & Adventure Camp is run annually during July at the British International School, Phuket. It is rated as one of the best camps in Southeast Asia, and has been running for the past 16 years.
