The body of Anton Wegnia, aged 74, was found at the Austria Garden hotel in Patong. Close by were an asthma inhaler and medicine to enhance sexual performance.
Kathu Police detective Col Theerasak Boonsang said both items were seized by police.
After questioning people, police said Mr Wegnia was a “good-tempered man”, and had been with many women.
Mr Wegnia’s body was taken to Patong Hospital to determine the cause of death, but police believe Mr Wegnia died from a medical condition.
