It was Phuket's second back-to-back away game against Air Force team, and their fourth football game in the space of 10 days: on Wednesday, April 24, a second string Phuket squad defeated the Air Force players by 1-0 in a Thai Com FA Cup match.
Phuket's Thongchai Kuenkunthod gave the Islanders the the lead in first half stoppage time, but Air Force fought back with second half goals from Sirodom Singtippan and their Nigerian striker Julius Oiboh to complete the comeback.
