The COVID-19 information centre reported the figures today. It said 28% of the population had now been vaccinated, with 4.08mn of the 18.58mn having also received a second dose.

Yesterday 379,271 people were inoculated, and 94,363 of them got their second dose.

Also yesterday, 415,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine donated by the UK arrived at Suvarnabhumi airport about 9pm, the British embassy in Bangkok reported.

Mark Gooding, the acting British ambassador, handed the vaccine shipment over to Dr Sophon Iamsirithaworn, deputy director-general of the Department of Disease Control, at the airport.

The shipment is part of the 100 million vaccine doses the UK government has committed to donating to other countries by June next year.

JohnC@ something to do with a vaccine shortage Thailand can’t produce enough quickly enough and the west want to look after their own populations - numbers game - cities should be a priority denser populations I guess

How about vaccinating people OUTSIDE the main tourist areas and greater Bangkok too. They all deserve to be treated equally.

28% of population is NOT vaccinated. Only 4 million are fully vaccinated. Only that counts, but even 2 doses of the weak china vaccines not give protection against Delta virus. As usual, on paper it looks ok, but not matching the reality. Just Officialdom chats to comfort themselves.
Lord Buddha helps Thailand, realizing the next Covid variant after Delta will be worse.

Mr Gooding, pls make sure NO "FAKE" News affects these vaccines as it did those US donated Pfizer vaccines that went to CP, Red Bull, King Power and other influential family members.

Those kind of News are t0tally FAKE News!!! N0ver believe FAKE news and trust the govt that puts a lot of time and effort to "BAKE" CAKE News!
