John Hurley, aged 39, made headlines when he jumped from the 18th floor of the hotel and managed to survive, albeit with broken ribs, a broken leg and a smashed wrist.
Mr Hurley crashed through a canopy before hitting the ground, breaking his fall somewhat and, perhaps, saving his life.
A spokesperson from Vachira confirmed to The Phuket News yesterday that Mr Hurley still had a seriously broken leg and would require many more operations, including one scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday).
However he is conscious and able to eat and talk.
