Natenapa Choochote, 28, told Chalong Police that she and her boyfriend, who is from Nakhon Sri Thammarat, had a quarrel on the evening of January 1.

In an effort to resolve their differences, he drove her from her home in Thalang to romantic Laem Phrom Thep. They walked out along the cape but when they reached the end the quarrel blew up again, and he began to hit her.

Finally, he pushed her into the water. Luckily, she was spotted by a passing yacht, which plucked her from the sea and took her to Chalong Police station.

Pol Lt Col Boonlert Ornklang of Chalong Police said that they know who the boyfriend is and where he lives, but do not want to name him at the moment for fear of frightening him away.

Police intend to invite him to come to the police station for a discussion with Ms Natenapa, with the aim of reaching an amicable conclusion to the episode.
