Muang Phuket Police inspector, Pol Maj Wetchasak Julaadun, told The Phuket News that the body was found by plastic bottle collectors around 8am.

“The man had countless stab wounds in his face – which make him unrecognisable – one wound on his head, one in the right side of his neck, one in the left armpit and four in the left shoulder. He also has other wounds on his face. We believe he has been dead about two days.

“The body was found with no identification. The victim has dark skin, and is around 170cm in height. He has short hair, and was wearing red shorts and had a red cloth covering his head.”

The body has been taken to Vachira Hospital.
