“Two cars and two trucks crashed into each other in front of the Esso gas station on the northbound road into the underpass at 10am,” reported traffic officer Lt Sompom Imsamran of the Phuket City Police.

“Traffic Police are on scene to assist traffic flow, which has been restricted to one lane northbound through the tunnel. Please drive carefully through this area,” he said.

swerve: Unneeded and preventable thai traffic accidents are amusing.
Did you read the witness report here below of 'donwong'?

swerv: On Phuket they are amusing, when you not keep sufficient distance to the car in front of you, as the photos show.
You think you can understand that, Swerv?

Kurt: why is this outcome funny?
Traffic accidents are not amusing.

I drove by this "accident" right after it happened. There was a tour bus with it's right side completely smashed against the underpass wall. Then there was a small truck and 1-2 cars smashed against the left side of the tour bus. The bus was completely squeezed between the wall and the other cars. It looked like all four of the vehicles had a ME FIRST attitude and all four drove as fast as they could in the rain to get to the front of the line. Which resulted in none of them getting anywhere. Aren't there any traffic cops in Phuket? This is the most amazing place I've ever lived as far as no one ever getting in trouble for driving so badly. It's really a shame.

Well it wouldn't have been the taxi drivers fault.
