True introduces 17 HD channels
PHUKET: Good news for armchair sportsmen and adventurers: Satellite TV company True Vision is introducing 17 high definition (HD) TV channels in Phuket, the largest number in Thailand.

The announcement came from True Vision Cable’s sales director Sahat Kanongsilp during a recent exposition at Central Festival shopping centre.
Among the HD channels are ESPN HD, History HD, KBS World HD, and HD Showcase, which feature Dolby Digital Plus sound.
Mr Sahat claimed that True is the only company in Southeast Asia offering Dolby Digital Plus.
Initially, the 17 HD channels are offered free to Platinum HD subscribers only. Five of the channels are new offerings.
