Three Phuket drug dealers arrested for possession of ya ice

PHUKET: Three people who between them were found in possession of 126.41 grammes of crystal meth ya ice were arrested on Monday (Aug 1) and Tuesday (Aug 2) as part of police’s ongoing anti-drug and crime campaign being carried out across the island.

The arrests were announced by Commander of Phuket Provincial Police Maj Gen Teerapol Thipjaroen at a press conference held yesterday(Au 3) at Phuket City Police Station.
Those arrested were named as:

1. Nootsara Chanpoy, 42.

2. Manus Taweesawan, 31.

3. Vorayod Gihuay, 29.

According to the police report, on Aug 1 at 5.30pm, officers arrested 42-year-old Nootsara at the car park of the Top Charoen opticians on Rassada Rd in Phuket Town.

The arrest of Nootsara came after police learned that she had been selling ya ice to people in the Phuket City area using a Toyota Vios to deliver the drugs.

Police seized from her 16.94g of ya ice, drug taking paraphernalia, digital scales and small plastic bags used for packing the drugs.

At midday on Aug 2 police arrested Manus after he was pointed out by Nootsara as one of her buyers.

The 31 years old was found in possession of 55.59g ya ice. In addition to the drugs police also seized digital scales small plastic bags and a mobile phone.

At 4:30 the same day officers were led to 29-year-old Vorayod at his house in Rassada Rd in Phuket Town who had in his possession 53.88g of ya ice, digital scales, small plastic bags, a homemade gun, two shotgun shells and six bullets.

Nootsara and Manus were charged with possession of a Category 1 drug with intent to sell, while Vorayod was charged with possession of a Category 1 drug with intent to sell and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.
