Tesco Lotus Senior Corporate Affair Manager Chakrit Direkwattanachai said the campaign aims to encourage people to take care their heath by doing more exercises, eating well and feeling happy under the “3G” concept; Good Health, Good Life and Good Eating.
“Sixteen million people nationwide have taken part since the activities began five years ago, in aerobic competitions in communities and at national level, in walkathons, football clinics or under-12 football competitions.
“We expect six million people from 100 communities to join our activities in this year,” he said.
As part of activities, Tesco-Lotus will be organising a national aerobics competition with total prizes worth B1.73 million and a trophy donated by Privy Councillor General Prem Tinsulanonda.
The competition will be divided into three age classes; under 15 years, over 35 years, and an open class.
Regional rounds will be held in May and June, with teams from the southern provinces competing at the Thalang store on May 12 and 13. The finals will take place in Bangkok on June 24 at Thammasat University’s Rangsit Sports Stadium.
In addition, people may upload unedited video of their groups doing aerobics to Facebook/gethealthywithtescolotus from May 15-31. The 10 videos that receive the most “Likes” will each win B5,000 in cash.
To get people going yesterday, 12 “health ambassadors” put on an aerobic aerobic dancing show, encouraging local people, Tesco Lotus managers and staff to join in.
To join the aerobic competition contact the Public Relations counter in any major branch of Tesco-Lotus, call 02 530 9383-4, or visit tescolotus.com.
