Police arrested six teenagers on Thursday night (April 21) who were suspected of being members of an armed gang that recently robbed residents and tourists in different parts of the island including Patong.
Four Thaipradit guns, bullets, knives and boiled kratom leaves, used as a drug, were confiscated from a house belonging to the father of one of the young men, who was also charged by police.
Police said the gang was called “Junior” with members aged between 15 to 19 years old.
The youngsters were charged with robbery and possessing unlicensed firearms. Patong Police Superintendent Arayapan Pukbuakao said after the robberies, the gang would share the loot and fled to their home places such as Phang-nga province, only to return to rob in Phuket again when their money was spent.
