Stranded passengers ‘all home by the weekend’
PHUKET: All the passengers stranded in Phuket by the financial collapse of Air Australia should be going home within the coming few days, Australian Honorary Consul Larry Cunningham, told The Phuket News today (February 20).

“Some of them have already been flown to Australia by Jetstar, and I think all the passengers should be back home soon – maybe in another week.”
Airport Director Pratuang Sornkham said that most of the abandoned passengers are now staying in hotels near the airport or in Phuket Town waiting for confirmation of seats on aircraft to take them home.
“Jetstar has been trying hard to provide flights to take all the Australian passengers home,” said Mr Pratuang. “I think in about three to four days, all passengers will be able go back home. If there is a larger aircraft with seats available, it may be as little as one or two days,” he added.
