A spokeswoman for Bangkok-based ACAP Advisory Public Co said that the initial auction deadline of October 3 had passed with “no winning bidder” so the company had decided to leave the auction open, with no deadline.
“It is not clear who is the winning bidder on these two buildings,” she told The Phuket News. “The result has not yet been revealed and the buildings are still up for bids with the existing minimum prices,” she said.
One of Phuket Town’s most recognisable landmarks, the three-star Thavorn Grand, on Chana Charoen Rd, near Robinson, sits on 5½ rai of land, and went on the block for bids over B420 million.
The hotel has 150 rooms, a conference room, a nightclub, a coffee shop, a restaurant, a beauty salon and an outdoor swimming pool. It was built in 1992 and renovated eight years ago.
Thavorn Massage, on two rai of adjacent land, is for sale with a reserve price of B60 million.
Both were previously owned by the Thavornwongwong family.
