The smooth, understated rapping style of Snoop was hugely influential during the G-Funk era of 'Gangsta' rap in the 90s.
He later received world-wide fame as the 'Doggfather' throughout a period of rap's perhaps darkest period - the East coast-West Coast controversy - which saw the murder of his rapstar colleague Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls.
Snoop has been hugely influential ever since the release of his debut album, Doggystyle and unlike many rappers from the 90s has managed to change, update and amend his style and music to stay relevant, at least to the Dance music generation and community.
His most successful foray into the Dance genre has undoubtedly been 'Sweat', produced by superstar Dance DJ David Guetta.
Snoop will be chillin' and probably sippin' on the odd gin and juice in Phuket while filming his new music video at the resort before jetting off to Bangkok to perform at the Together Festival on January 19.
