Police yet to charge Phuket driver

PHUKET: Chalong Police confirmed today they have yet to charge the driver of the Pegas Tours Toyota Commuter minibus, which was involved in the crash yesterday (November 29) that killed nine-year-old British International School student Kurrannee “Wan” Lattuada-Lancini.

Wan was killed instantly when the pickup in which she was travelling to school collided with the Pegas Tours minibus. Six others, including both drivers, were hurt in the crash.

This afternoon, Pol Lt Kraisorn Boonprasop of Chalong Police said the driver of the Pegas minibus, Makisan Samer, age 28, was still seriously injured in hospital and police were waiting for his condition to improve before talking to him.

Charges were likely, Lt Kraisorn said.
