Pirate raids net 11 vendors
About 100,000 pirated DVDs and CDs worth more than B5 million were seized from 11 shops in Patong yesterday.

The raids were conducted by National Police Deputy Commander Pansiri Praphawat, who heads the national centre for suppression of copyright infringement.
Warrants were issued for 13 shops in Patong, along the beach road and in OTOP Plaza, but only 11 shops had items seized as the other two store operators fled.
Police took the seized items to Patong Police Station.
The legitimate retail value of the goods is estimated at B20 million.
